LapWorks is proud to brighten-up the colorless notebook accessory market with a new line of brightly colored Laptop Desks. We call them the Painted Futuras and there are 12 unique colors & patterns currently available: Passion Pink, Red Marble, Purple Surple, Blue Marble, Desert Camou, Deep Red, Jungle Camou, Tempting Teal, Largely Leopard, Deep Space, Moo Cow, American Flag.

The Painted Futuras aren't just another pretty face. They have a dual-purpose - they create an ergonomic workstation on your lap as a lap tray or folded into a wedge shape for use as a desktop typing stand. But that's not all . . . they also serve to cool your notebook and protect your lap from the heat we call "Hot Lap".

The Painted Futuras are a simple yet innovative concept that is guaranteed to brighten up your life and bring color to the stodgy old PC world. No longer will you have to settle for ordinary PC gray or black. You can break free and make a statement with the attractive colors and patterns we offer.

We have twelve Painted Futura images to choose from. More colors and patterns will be added as this program grows. All colors come standard with black rubber pads and semi-gloss Acrylic overcoating for protection against scratches and scuffing. All inks are UV inhibited and will NOT fade.

HOW WE PAINTED THE FUTURAS:

The Painted Futuras are not painted in the classic sense of brushing or spray painting. Instead, they are printed on a highly specialized UV printer that uses ink jets to apply a heavy coat of an industrial grade ink that dries and hardens immediately upon exposure to a UV light source.

After the product is printed and cured, we apply a coat of semi-gloss acrylic to further protect the painted surface. The UV-cured ink has a similar hardness to that of automotive paint but the acrylic coating provides an extra measure of protection to insure that the color and ink will last for a very long time without discoloring or rubbing off. The ink we use is UV inhibited.

Other graphic processes would have resulted in a much higher unit cost. Examples are Air Brushing which would have raised the retail price considerably. Hand painting with automotive grade paint would have also raised the price beyond reason and this process could only have produced solid colors.

The one limitation with our UV printing process is that the ink jets spray in a downward direction only, leaving the 1/4" side walls of the Futura with just an overspray from the ink jet application. To overcome this and give the Futura a finished look, before the blank Futura goes to the printer, we hand-paint the outside edges with an air brush applicator using automotive grade paint to provide the best finish and protection. The inside edges on the underside of the Futura are not touched-up in the same manner.

Because the Painted Futuras are custom-painted opposed to production line painting, LapWorks is giving its customers a two-week window to inspect the product and return it for a full refund if it isn't to their liking. The product has to be returned in pristine condition in its original ziplock polybag and printed insert card to qualify for a refund.
